Miyabi Iki Knife Collection: Limited Edition 20th Anniversary Series

Time to read 2 min

Introducing: Miyabi Iki Moonlight Damascus Knives

Miyabi marks its 20th Anniversary with the limited Iki series, a special edition collection that represents the uniqueness of Japanese and German craftsmanship. Iki, meaning “refined grace,” is inspired by Seki, Japan’s serene landscapes, where moonlight shimmers across cascading waters.

These knives combine artistry with high performance, high Rockwell, and a high gloss! The Miyabi Iki series is an awesome addition for collectors, chefs, and knife nerds alike.

The Miyabi Iki Series Overview

MC66 High-Carbon Steel:

The 49 layers of advanced MC66 powdered metallurgy steel create the mesmerizing “Moonlight” Damascus pattern for unmatched sharpness. With a Rockwell Hardness of 66, these knives are best suited for those who are familiar with Japanese knives. Resembling the Rockwell Hardness of the Miyabi Black, the Iki series is designed for tap and push chopping or slicing.

Shinogi Grind:

An artfully carved Shinogi grind at the tip of the knife for an even sharper silhouette.

Maple Burl Handles

Each handle is hand-coated with multiple layers of glass, providing both a sheen and durability.

Carved Handle Design

Gentle, flowing curves are crafted to evoke the movement of cascading water.

Certificate of Authenticity:

The first 500 knives come with a Japanese parchemin certificate stamped by the artisan.

Handcrafted in Seki, Japan:

Backed by a lifetime warranty.

Miyabi Iki Knife Collection

The IKI series includes three core knives, each designed with varying handle sizes for comfort and balance:

  • 8” Chef’s Knife: The ultimate all-purpose kitchen workhorse.

  • 7” Santoku Knife: Ideal for vegetables and quick prep. Learn more about Santoku Knives.

  • 3.5” Paring Knife: Perfect for small, intricate cutting tasks and scoring.

Miyabi: Celebrating 20 Years of Craftsmanship

Founded in 2004 when Zwilling J.A. Henckels acquired a traditional knife factory in Seki, Japan, Miyabi was built to combine German engineering with the centuries-old art of Japanese blade-making. Over the years, Miyabi has launched some of the most celebrated series in the cutlery world. Learn all about Miyabi knives here; all images are also linked to each series below.

  • Kaizen (VG10 Damascus) – The series that started it all.

  • Kaizen II (FC61 Steel) – A tougher, modern update with deep etched Damascus.

  • Artisan & Mizu (SG2 Hammered Damascus) – Beautiful hammered finishes paired with exceptional edge retention.

  • Birchwood (SG2 Damascus) – Featuring 100-layer Damascus steel and natural Karelian Birchwood handles.

  • Black (MC66 Damascus) – Ultra-hard MC66 core with striking aesthetics, and the inspiration for the Miyabi Iki Limited Edition.

  • Koh & Koya (FC61 Steel) – Minimalist, modern designs.

500 Limited Edition Miyabi Iki Knives

The IKI series is Miyabi’s most elegant and luxurious collection to date. It’s as much a collector’s piece as it is a high-performance kitchen tool. Every detail—from the Moonlight Damascus steel to the intricately carved Maple Burl handle- is a tribute to Miyabi’s two decades of Japanese knife making.

The first 500 knives come with a Japanese parchemin card certificate stamped by the artisan, but hopefully the series will continue once the first 500 are gone!
