These three are just great, supremely functional, attractive looking, and really fun to use. My favorite things about this set (besides the price) is how totally different and unique they are. The chefs knife is big and has a perfect weight to it; it has an exaggerated curve to it. I was curious to see how this would function and how well. I was surprised to find it was nearly perfect, with a nearly perfect blade design. It preformed well enough to replace a santoku for some tasks that I would usually chose it for; my santoku is from the same line. Super duper fun knife.
The serrated utility is essentially a mini bread knife. It’s great for tomatoes, bagels, crescents, shallots, garlic, some lite prep work, etc... even some trimming, and it works really well. I keep finding new things to do with it. You would never be able to guess by looking at it, but trimming a tri-tip or a rack of ribs is an effortless job for this little knife. The smaller knives from the pro line meld so well To my hand. The only thing I can say I would change about this knife is the shape of the knife tip; I would have more uses for it if it came to a point and not so rounded off at the front of the spine. This is a more about preference and not so much a complaint.
The small 3” pairing knife is excellent, really excellent actually. And I’m using it more than I ever thought I would use such a small knife. I use it for all types of foods; meat, veggies, starches, cutting the tops off…
