Description

The Zwilling Four Star Chef's Knife is perfect for slicing, dicing, chopping, and mincing of fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and even smashing garlic. Zwilling Four Star series is one of the world's most popular knife lines. Four Star knives were designed and developed in close cooperation with renowned professional chefs. The result was a fully forged knife with a unique molded handle. This entire collection features precision forged knives made from a single piece of Zwilling exclusive high carbon stainless steel. As a result, the knives have improved quality consistency, lasting sharpness, and perfect geometry. In addition, the steel blade goes through a special ice-hardening process called Friodur. This process changes the molecular structure of the steel improving the cutting properties providing a remarkably sharp blade and ensures a long lasting cutting edge. Each knife is hand sharpened, polished and laser controlled to assure the cutting edge is accurate along the full length of the blade. First introduced in 1976, the Four Star range today is still one of the world's most popular knife series. The Four Star series features high impact polypropylene handles that are permanently bonded to the knife blades without any gaps. These comfortable, molded handles are break-proof, sanitary, and colorfast. In addition, the super bolster and full tang provides weight, insures safety, and adds balance. Made in Germany with a lifetime warranty.

    Great knife

Wow is this thing sharp! I had no idea my old knife wasnt that sharp. I even have a belt grinder I've used for my old knife and this is better. I haven't had it long enough to know about the durability, but I'm very impressed so far

Very sharp, you can use it to cut all kinds of veggies and meat, it’s probably the knife that I reach out to the most.

    Outstanding Value

This is my 8th knife in this set and I could not be more pleased. Super sharp, well balanced, holds an edge, and well finished on the blade.

    Henckels German made chef's knife

Several years ago I bought a Henckels knife set from Cutlery and More. My son-in-law who used to be a chef told me to get that brand. What he didn't tell me was that not all Henckels are made in Germany. They have a cheaper International version which is made in China.

My son has a Henckels chef's knife that has a different handle. I noticed it cut much better than my knives. It turned out that his was made in Germany. Without question the German made knife blows the other one away.

The only mistake I made was thinking his knife had a 10" blade. It turned out his was an 8. The 10 that I purchased is a little big for me. I probably would have been happier with the 8 (and saved a little bit of money). The main point of this review is that you should buy the German made version. Although the knives made in China say Henckels on them there is no comparison between the two. The German is much, much sharper and much heavier. You really don't need a full set of knives. The Chef's knife will do almost everything you want.
