Description

The Kurosaki SG2 Senko Ei Gyuto is an all-purpose blade ideal for a wide variety of cutting tasks. The length is perfect for slicing, dicing, and chopping fruits, vegetables, and other foods. The wide blade keeps knuckles off the cutting board and is extra handy when transferring cut food from board to pan. With its curved belly, the Chef's knife can be gently "rocked" through fresh herbs or spices to produce a very fine mince.

Yu Kurosaki is a young, talented master blacksmith living in the Takefu Knife Village, close to the city of Echizen, Japan. His knives are well known throughout Japan as well as around the world. In fact, the hammered dents on each blade are Yu Kurosaki's signature finish, made of high quality stainless steel with a sharp, long lasting edge. This unique pattern ensures food won't stick to the blade. Yu Kurosaki provides products that combine sophisticated design, beauty, and ultimate sharpness, rather than just a tool for cutting ingredients.

    So Thin and Slicey

I'm a big fan of the Kurosaki Senko line. This one really feels nice in the hand and looks even better. That SG2 steel holds an amazing edge. While it's not a knife that I would recommend to the average user, if you use proper knife skills and don't abuse your knives then this one will be an amazing knife for you.

    I'm in love

Bought this as my main knife at work. I liked my last knife because it was light, thin and sharp, but it didnt hold an edge and it was a bit too small. The Kurosaki is a bit thinner, longer and taller than the other one and somehow weighs less. I use it all day and it just needs a ceramic or steel rod occasionally, took me almost 3 months before it needed a stone.

    Wanted to love it

Wanted to love this knife as I have a bunka from the same line/style. The handle on this particular knife was not pressed onto the tang fully and there is enough of a gap where I can fit the blade of another knife between handle and blade. There were also scratches/ deep grooves in the handle that my previous knives never had out of the box. Disappointed with the fit and finish for the price. Customer service advised they do not do exchanges and I would have to ship it back to get a refund but as I had gotten this on early thanksgiving sale and paid $45 for shipping I didn’t want to lose out on even more money. They advised since these are “handmade” the issues are to be expected. Sounds like no one inspects the inventory before shipping it out.

Knife on the right is the gyuto
