    Sharpening kit

Stones are great quality and are big enough for sharpening larger knives. Adjustable wooden stone rack mounts over the sink or can be used on the countertop. Heavy duty construction should last years. Definitely recommend.

    Wowowowow!

I have one of the 1000/6000 you get on amazon for a few bucks, and I treated myself to this set with on sale, and I cannot believe the difference. My knives are so so super sharp now with very little effort.

The glass backs are also really cool looking, almost a statement piece.

    Water Stone

This is a pretty handy kit. My usual is an old set of oil stones and an oils soaked rag. This is a

less messy method. Sharpening the knives over the kitchen sink makes clean up easier. It's working out pretty well and I look forward to keeping this in the rotation.

Great sharpening set for first time user.

This is my first time using a whetstone sharpening kit, I watched a lot of youtube videos on how to sharpen, also what grit to choose. This set seemed like the right fit for me, with the 400, 1000, and 5000 grit.

The holder is great as I put it on my kitchen sink and I was able to adjust it to fit nice and snug, then fit the stones nicely after. I practiced with my old German knives first, I had a set that was about 30 years old, they were pretty dull, I used the sharpie technique to mark the edge and see where it wears according to the angle I held the knife at. At first I wasn't getting a very sharp edge but as I kept trying and held the knife at a consistent angle on both sides I started to get the edge sharper. As long as you keep both edges at a consistent angle then the actual angle isn't as important, just get it close.

After sharpening my older German knives I got out my high end Japanese chef and boning knives, oh my I couldn't believe how sharp I can get them. I didn't need the 400 grit on those because they were already pretty sharp, I started out with the 1000 grit and then polished with the 5000. I tested the blades on paper and they cut like a surgeons scalpel.

I am very satisfied with the results and happy with my purchase. I used a coupon code to get 15% off which really helped cause the $150 isn't cheap, but I would still buy it regardless.

I will be buying another set as a gift when I visit my family in Europe and teaching my cousin how to sharpen his…
