Description

Our Exclusive Shun Nagare Santoku Knife is a beautiful, Asian-inspired chef's knife that many cooks today have added to their kitchen favorites. A knife of many talents, a santoku easily handles all the basic kitchen cutting tasks. Slightly shorter than the standard chef's knife, the Shun Nagare Santoku is agile and very easy to maneuver. There's just enough belly curve to enable rocking cuts, which just adds to the santoku's versatility. It's as easy to use as a chef's knife and is especially well suited to a down-and-forward cutting motion push cut.

The Shun Nagare series features a Damascus blade made from two premium-quality, high-carbon stainless steels. 71 alternating micro-layers of high carbon, high chromium VG10 and VG2 stainless steels are roll-forged to produce a finer grain in the steel and to give it both strength and beauty. The laminated steel is then hot forged to create the herringbone pattern that allows the layers to alternate along the cutting edge. During normal use, the two steels will wear at different rates creating micro serrations along the edge so that the extremely sharp edge feels sharp longer. Etched laminations in the blade reduce drag, helping food release from the blade and gliding through each cut quickly and easily. With its soft, rounded lines, the ergonomically shaped handle fits the hand perfectly. The forged tang in the handle lends the knife a robust stability and provides an optimum counterweight to the blade. The riveted handle, which is fashioned from mottled grey-black pakkawood. Shun Nagare is the pinnacle of luxury class, artfully decorated with radial patterns of Damascus layers adorned by the highly polished blades.

    She loves it

    Gave the knife to my daughter and she loves it . This knife is very close to my shun ken onion knife series from back in 2008 the slight tilt angle on the handle and the grip enhance the chefs cutting position
