Description

Crafted using 67 layers of damascus stainless steel, these knives feature a highly polished finish and edges with a razor sharp 15 degree double bevel. The ebony wood handles are elegant and feel great in the hand. The bolsters add some heft and balance and the sloped tips are designed to easily slice steak on a dinner plate. These are not dishwasher safe, mainly due to the handles being natural wood, but the blades are a bit more durable than some of the harder steels out there. However, with an HRC of 60-61, they will still hold an extremely sharp fine edge. This set of four comes with a wood case for an impressive gift presentation and easy storage.

    Good bang for the buck

    I purchased a set of Miyabi Birchwood knives and after much deliberation, decided to go with these Nexus streak knives instead of the matching Birchwood set. These are well made, sharp, and comfortable. The sides of the handle are flat, so they will not easily roll off the plate which I have found to be a problem with other knives. I paired them with a six steak knife only block offered by Shun and they work very well together. Happy with the purchase for a set of knives with block. That's less expensive than just a single knife from Birchwood set. I think they're definitely worth the bang for the buck. I've only owned them for a couple of weeks, but if there are no updates to this post then I haven't run into any problems.

    Looks nice except for the logo

    Knives work well and look nice. Except for the big “nexus” logo printed on the blades. But I knew the logo was there when I bought them and still like them, I just wish I could have had the option to get them without the logo there.

    The box is a nice touch, but the lid immediately warped after I got it and now curves up on both ends instead of being flush with the bottom of the box. Probably my dry house in the winter but just a warning to anyone expecting a high quality box!
