Description

The Miyabi Black Prep Knife is designed for peeling and chopping vegetables and fruit, slicing meats and cheeses, butterflying chicken breasts, deveining shrimp and much more. The Miyabi Black 5000MCD67 series is a stunning example of the finest Japanese craftsmanship. Features an extremely hard Micro Carbide powder super steel core for excellent cutting edge retention and sharpness. The core of the blade is surrounded by 132 outer layers of steel which make up the unique Damascus design pattern on the blade. The handle sits comfortably in the hand, allowing firm control and tireless working. It's recommended to hand wash only, and using glass, ceramic or stone cutting boards should be avoided. Made in Japan with a lifetime warranty.

    Razor sharp

    It’s a relatively small knife but its sharpness is intimidating. It beautiful and useful at the same time. The steel is one of the hardest available, and it shows it in its edge.

    The Black

    I have several different Miyabi knife types / handle materials. Always wanted a "black". Pretty much completes my set. Only complaint: I wasn't expecting the handle to be so small; anticipated something larger. Not that it affects the function; just expected a more showy presence. At the end of the day I absolutely love the knife...no regrets.

    Outstanding prep knife.

    I love all of the Miyabi Black knives. The quality and edge life are top notch. The blade is thicker than many similar knives so there is no flex. Each knife has unique characteristics on each blade and handle. The knives are weightier as well in the hand.

    Great petty

    After being impressed by the Miyabi Black Kiritsuke, I was excited to pickup this prep knife. It’s great for deboning a chicken, and can take the place of a honesuke. It is also good for doing most paring knife tasks. Between these two knifes I can do 90-95% of my kitchen tasks.
