Messermeister Edge Guards are an interesting, if somewhat expensive, option for knives kept in a drawer. Like a wooden sheath they completely cover the blade, which is good for the knife. But if you have a busy knife drawer there's no magnetic wooden sheath that you can totally rely on to hold on to a blade as you pull the knife out. The Messermeister has magnets that run the length of both sides of the blade and will hold on to that blade no matter what, which is good for your hands. Worth considering if you have lots of knives in your drawer.
