Kurobara Tsubaki Camellia Knife Oil, 100ml

I bought the oil to use on a carbon steel knife and it works great. I also now use the oil on my hinoki cutting board to prevent it drying out. Very light colour and no odor.

I was just washing and thoroughly drying my knives for quite awhile, Recently one of my Yoshikanes developed a small amount of surface rust. I now apply a thin layer of this oil to better protect my knives that I have thousands of dollars invested in. This oil doesn’t leave a lot of residue on my magnetic knife blocks. I wipe the knife just before using for prep then apply this product after washing and drying as part of my routine.

As far as blade oils go, this has been and is my go-to. In all fairness, I’ve only tried a couple other brands, but this stands out. It’s long lasting, effective, and does exactly what it’s supposed to without being “gummy” or sticky. Others that I’ve tried have either been too thin or too thick, viscous. This is the perfect Goldilocks oil - just right.

First time using tsubaki oil and it's what I'm sticking with going forward. Very light and not greasy feeling, doesn't smell, little bit on a leather sheath really conditioned in nicely, and it's natural and food safe. What's not to like?
