Just what you would expect of a quality Japanese made knife...

I've been using this knife for several weeks now and I love it. The thickness of the blade gives it good stiffness and the slightly curved blade made chopping and dicing efficient. I love the reverse tango point for getting into spots (e.g., dismembering a chicken) which are tight. The edge was nicely sharpened when it arrived. However, I am one of those people that sharpens new knives anyway because they usually need it. This one was no exception in my opinion. Most people would probably be just fine with it out of the box. Regardless, it is near perfection now. A nice addition to my collection of quality Japanese kitchen knives.
