Hatsukokoro Hayabusa Aogami Super 5.9" Petty

Very light knife, effortless to use. pretty sharp out of the box but I did need to give it a few swipes on a ceramic honing rod after a couple uses, was razor sharp after that and it didn't take much. Looks even better with patina starting to develop on the core steel. This knife fills the gap between my paring knife and my bunka or chef's knives very well, I expect it to get a lot of use.

I wanted to love this knife. It is super thin and very light. But, at 6” it can feel a bit flimsy at times. Still manageable. It was pretty annoying that it was kinda dull out of the box. Wouldn’t cut paper. Passed on my Shapton glass stones, a nice strop, and good to go. Overall, it is a very nice knife.

Knife is beautiful in person, very simple design but not too plain. Blade is pretty sharp out of the box but could be better. Not too bad all in all though.
