    Great Entry to Traditional Japanese Knives

    This is my first true Japanese knife. I wasn't sure what I exactly wanted yet, so this felt like a safe choice. I'm glad I chose it, the finishing work is perfect, nice balance of laser leaning without being too thin and light. Doesn't feel too delicate. Very comfortable, and decently sharp out of the box. Could use a touch up to get that final ultra sharpness, but it's overall fantastic. The Aogami super core steel is also a great entry to carbon steel without as much stress over it rusting. Especially with the san mai stainless cladding this knife has. This is a great value for the price, so much nicer than other knives close to its price. I can see myself taking care of and using this knife for many years, while also helping me learn what features I may prefer in a more expensive Japanese knife later on. If you want to dice head first into Japanese knives, but are unsure where to start, this knife is a great starting point. Or a great value for those already experienced with Japanese knives.

    Great value for an Aogami Super blue

    Sharp out of the box, balance is good and it is priced at way less than other brands with the same steel. I haven’t put it to use yet so it remains to be seen how it will perform as far as edge retention, ease of sharpening and toughness
