Asahi Black Professional Rubber Cutting Board, 15 x 8.2"

This is the best cutting board I’ve used - and I’ve use many, including rubber, wooden end cuts, etc. It has just the right amount of weight, friction to hold food in place, and softness/hardness for knife edge retention. Excellent Japanese quality. I highly recommend it.

I’ve used smaller Asahi boards before, and this larger Professional board has been a great addition. The surface is gentle on knife edges while still providing good grip during prep. The extra workspace is also a big improvement over the smaller sizes. You can’t go wrong with these cutting boards!

Unfortunately, a 1/8 in too wide so doesn't fit in my storage cabinets...I had to return it but will replace it with another as soon as the right size is available again.

I wish more sizes were available - my exclusive go-to board to minimize edge-wear.

This Asahi Black Rubber board has become my everyday prep surface for fruits, vegetables, and raw proteins. It’s non porous, gentle on my Shun Premier knives, and doesn’t hold odors. The care instructions say “not dishwasher safe,” however in my experience it has held up extremely well in my Bosch dishwasher. My tankless water heater is set to 118°F, and the board comes out perfectly flat with no warping or softening. I’m buying a second one, so I always have a clean board ready. Great quality and performance.
