All-Clad 2-quart Whistling Tea Kettle

The kettle is well balanced and easy to pour; it has a nice weight with a look and feel of quality.

The lid fits snug, but is easy to remove/replace.

The whistle is refined and pleasant, less shrill than most; the sound volume is appropriate.

I like the hinged whistle cap and lever, and have no issue with its use.

The MAX fill line inside the kettle can be challenging to see, but is useful.

The mouth of the kettle is large, and handle high enough, making handwashing/drying a breeze.

The handle's concave top allows one's palm and thumb to rest in a pleasant position; the handle cutouts on each side near where it attaches to the pot does a good job of dissipating heat before it reaches the handle; the rivets are solid.

The bottom of the handle has a smooth bump toward the front---gives a nice tactile indication of hand/finger position on the handle.

All-Clad instructions [that came with this kettle] cautions that "the teakettle handle, lid and whistle may get hot. ALWAYS WEAR OVEN MITTS when handling teakettle or flipping the whistle lever open to prevent possible burn injury."

While this is sound and prudent advice, I have found after water boiling and whistle whistling, that the handle does not become overly hot; I can immediately pick up the kettle barehanded [by the handle], and do whatever one normally does with a teakettle. One caveat: if, after the initial boiling, the kettle is left on an active burner the handle will continue to heat up---be safe and use your best…
