Wusthof 12" Oval Honing Steel

The Wusthof Oval Honing Steel features a grooved rod, used for exceptional honing of your knives. The black composite handle provides a good grip and features a reasonable finger guard to help prevent the knife blade from hitting your knuckles. The rod is fitted with a loop to hang for storage.

Even high-quality knives, such as those made by Wusthof, gradually dull due to use. To compensate, a honing steel should be used regularly. A few strokes of both sides of the knife over the honing steel will help you to maintain the sharpness of a good blade. Diamond Steels are designed to restore the sharpness of particularly blunt knives.
