Takamura SG2 Migaki 6.7" Santoku

I've read about the Takamura SG2 line of knives, and this certainly lives up to the hype. This feels like the sharpest knife I've used, and certainly one of the nicest cutting feels. It is probably the thinnest knife I've used. It is all that I expected it to be and I highly recommend it. I now want the 210mm SG2 Gyuto to go with it.

This is the first SG2 knife in my collection. It is really well balances, very light compared to a Miyabi 7” santoku and cuts beautifully. I only use it on a hinoki cutting board to avoid possible chipping.

This is by far the sharpest knife I own. Cutting onions is now a game to see if I can feel any resistance. So far, the knife has won.

Very impressed with weight, feel and looks of this knife. Performance right out of the box, is amazing. Sharp, balanced and glides through products. Quality components with visual appeal.

I bought this ultra thin santoku knowing full well what I was getting into. I an have an SG2 Tojiro 8.1" gyuto from Cutlery and More that I wanted to compliment, and in every way it does the job. This Takamura is thin at the spine and even thinner toward the edge, which came from the factory very sharp. The polish is gorgeous, and the rosewood handle makes it stand out with my black handled Tojiros.
