A great addition to my knife collection!

I own many high quality knives from Shun, Glestain, F. Dick, Henkels, Sabatier, Toshiro, and others. I was looking for a lighter (semi asian style) chef's knife (as its the knife I use the most) This Miyabi Koya wonderful to use, light in the hand, great ergonomic handle, thin-super sharp blade, and made with obvious high quality material and craftsmanship. I love the light wood handle and the fit and finish is amazing. Though I have only used for a couple of weeks this knife is certain to be one of my bespoke choices when preparing amazing meals for my family and friends.

Excellent Value, A work of art

this was my first Japanese style chef knife. I was considering the Miyabi Evolution and the Shun Classic but am very happy I chose the Koya! The blonde wood handle is beautiful and the weight and balance of this knife gives you incredible control making you forget you have an 8" blade in your hands. Fit and finish is excellent and the mosaic pin and detail on the blade makes it much more aesthetically pleasing than a traditional chef knife you see in most kitchens. Packaging was not amazing but the knife I feel is an incredible value for the price.

    Poor packaging

The quality of the knife seems great but the packaging looks incredibly cheap. Still a great gift but I wish it could be presented better.
