Description

The Shun Sora Bread Knife will cut through easily giving perfect slices of bread every time, whether it's rustic, crusty bread or a soft and tender loaf. The wide serrations glide through the bread with ease and equals the amount of cutting power on the forward and back stroke. Sora uses Shun's proprietary composite blade technology bringing together a VG10 san mai cutting edge with a Japanese 420J stainless steel blade. The two blade sections are laser cut and fit together like pieces of a puzzle, and the braze welding permanently joins them together. The wavy pattern at the joint is based on traditional Japanese sword hamon lines. The textured PP/TPE polymer blend handle material provides a contemporary look, secure grip, while easy to maintain. The debossed stainless steel logo enhances and balances the handle. Handcrafted in Seki City, Japan, 10-year warranty.

    Works awesome

It cuts like butter and doesn’t rip the bread

    Cuts warm bread like butter!

Another winner from Shun! Not only a beautiful knife but very functional as well. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it isn't an offset handle. However, it is further away from the cutting board than the last bread knife I had which had me scrapping my knuckles on every stoke.

    Good knife, meh handle

Happy with the knife overall. Very nice blade, love the look and feel, can't go wrong with a shun blade. Handle is plastic which is fine but it lacks a solid feel. Feels more like a hollow plastic handle. First experience with Sora line...go with the Classic.
