I'm thrilled to welcome this stunning Nigara bunka into my C&M collection. The leaf-patterned tsuchime finish is absolutely beautiful, complemented by a stainless cladding that almost achieves a kasumi-like glow. The three distinct layers of metal are even more striking in person — something photography simply can't capture.
The knife arrived razor-sharp out of the box, with a solid, satisfying weight in the hand, thanks to the traditional ebony handle. While it may not be the classified as a laser, it’s plenty thin behind the edge and glides through delicate work like fine julienne cuts on peppers, onions, and other vegetables with ease.
A huge thank you to Mr. Yoshizawa-san for crafting such an exceptional blade. It’s a genuine pleasure to add another piece to my collection that carries both artisanal excellence and the deep, centuries-old legacy of Japanese knife-making.
Hey C&M team, you need to start offering knife-themed tours of Japan. Hint, hint!!!!
PS, I could not resist showing off my current C&M collection.
