Asahi Black Professional Rubber Cutting Board, 19.7 x 13" (15mm)

This is my second Asahi board, I purchased the smaller size and immediately knew I needed a larger version for dinner/meal prep. Cleans easily, protects my knife edges, and they feel great to cut on. Love these boards!

...and having two of these boards works out perfectly for me. I am a tall woman and keep a 2 1/2" thick wood chopping block on my counter at all times to provide a raised cutting surface. Two of these boards side-by-side on top of the block cover it entirely and provide a good size cutting surface. Two boards this size are easier to clean in the sink, air dry and store than one large one would be. Also, one board is often just right for smaller tasks and is easily moved around in the kitchen to the stove area and so on. I did a great deal of research before choosing the Asahi professional boards and I was not disappointed. The feel of cutting on them is so solid and comfortable. They do not slip around while in use, and I should not have to sharpen my knives as often. The black color is refined looking in my open plan kitchen-living rooms and should not show obvious stains. The boards are perfect for the many fruits and vegetables we cut up in our vegetarian household. I am very happy Cutlery and More had these boards in stock and provided such good service.

The Asahi Black Professional Rubber Cutting Board is one of those rare cases where the high price truly feels justified by the quality. After using it heavily for a few weeks with my Japanese knives, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this board again.

I had read about these Japanese rubber over wood cutting boards while reading about the difference between Japanese and German knives. Decided to try it since it was on sale and it's now my favorite cutting board.
