While Japanese knives have excellent sharpness, they are characterized by high carbon steel and can easily rust. It's highly recommend to use Kurobara Tsubaki Camellia Knife Oil as a solution to avoid getting rust on carbon steel knife blades while storing them.

Very nice knife and leather oil
First time using tsubaki oil and it's what I'm sticking with going forward. Very light and not greasy feeling, doesn't smell, little bit on a leather sheath really conditioned in nicely, and it's natural and food safe. What's not to like?
