    Beautiful gift

I purchased both this knife and the Enzo Hizashi Bunka knife as a Christmas gift for my brother who enjoys cooking. He was suprised and pleased with this set of knives, and commented how attractive and SHARP the blades were. He said he wanted to display the knives in his kitchen and is shopping for a rack to display them.

Thanks for a great product, Cutlery and More, and a special thanks for the free two-day shipping!

    Thrilled!

I just got this as a Christmas present, it’s wonderful! I am beyond thrilled to have this knife because it is sharp and can peel my potatoes, turnips, carrots without skipping, halting, or dragging and causing possible injuries to my hands. It feels good in my hand and is comfortable to use. This is such a thrill and joy to use! I enjoy slicing things again and my husband is not allowed to use this to break apart hotdogs EVER!

Fantastically sharp, but a little long

I love the shape and feel and look of the handle, and the blade is extremely sharp. The handle had a slight glue odor when I first opened the package, which was much stronger when the handle got wet during cleaning. That smell only lasted for a week or two, and has long since completely dissipated, even during washing.

I find myself not using it as often, as I'll usually grab my shorter 3.5" paring knife for small work, or a small santoku/chef's knife for medium work. Often this 4" blade just doesn't seem like the right tool for the job. If you don't have a utility knife or small santoku/chef's, this might be the perfect paring knife for you.
