Description

Crafted using AUS10 stainless steel that is imported from Japan, these knives feature a highly polished damascus finish and razor sharp 15 degree double bevel edges. The Italian olive wood handles are elegant and feel great in the hand. The bolsters add some heft and balance and the sloped tips are designed to easily slice steak on a dinner plate. These are not dishwasher safe, mainly due to the handles being natural wood, but the blades are a bit more durable than some of the harder steels out there. However, with an HRC of 60-61, they will still hold an extremely sharp fine edge. This set of four comes with a wood case for an impressive gift presentation and easy storage.

    Very suitable for steak dinners

    Certainly elegant without ostentation. 1) blade quality and geometry, 2) steel, 3) ease of sharpening. Very well made, perfectly straight, handles included, and the right weight and shape most of us expect in a good steak knife. Obviously, they are far above restaurant serrated hand saw excuses for knives. Hard steel may chip, soft steel dulls easily, and this stuff strikes a happy medium. Sharpening is the critical element for use, I'm a whetstone hobbyist, these sharpen easily, given the hardness. For finicky hobbyists: some may have a small machine sharpening flaw (very slightly fat heel), but it's only noticeable on a whetstone and whets out without difficulty (one tenth of a millimeter). They come at somewhere 15 degree bevel, between 140 and 170 on the BESS scale, but I like a sharper knife, 12 degrees, below 100 BESS, and I can get that with these, no problem. In sum, I'm very happy with these and bought a colored handle set too.

    Beautiful set and Amazing customer service

    I ordered two of these steak knife sets as a wedding anniversary gift for my husband. The knives are sturdy and comfortable to hold, the wood and blades are good quality, and they cut beautifully. He loves them!

    We had a very small crack on one of the olive wood handles, and the company immediately made sure the issue was addressed. Outstanding service. We will definitely be making more purchases at Cutlery and More.
