I did some reading up on Dao Vua knives and it seems like they have improved a lot with the v3 line. Better steel, finish, and quality control. This was my first one though and I've never seen one in person, so I was slightly nervous about it. I got it a few days ago and was not at all disappointed. The handle is nice with a good finish, and long which suits this knife well. It's a long knife but with the longer handle it's pretty well balanced, that surprised me. The blade looked cool, rougher hand forged finish. The forge scale or burned oil, whatever the black stuff is, kept coming off on rags so I scrubbed a lot of it off. I personally like the look of it now even more. Starting to get a little patina already after 2 uses, just a little, and I'm looking foward to watching it develop over time. Slices well out of the box but I'd like it a bit sharper. I don't see that as anything unusual, it won't take much to refine the edge a little. The sheath is great but very snug, little tough getting the blade in without the tip catching. Should get broken in a little soon, and I smoothed the tip a little to help. Overall I think it's a great value and quality for the price, I would definitely recommend it.
